The LCD technology of today is better and more energy efficient that the old CRT because of the fact that a CRT needs more juice for it to work properly. LCD’s are energy star compliant and are purely digital meaning they use no analog to digital converters unlike their analog counterparts of days gone by. There is however an important thing to remember with LCD monitors, they are more sensitive than your old CRT. They may function in the same manner but they are more prone to power surges so a good surge suppressor is best that clips faster than ordinary ones. Better yet, you can now get that UPS you’ve been wanting for sometime for since they eat less power they can stay powered longer by UPS units allowing you to work even through power outages. The screen of your LCD monitor may have a protective plastic or glass cover that scratches easy to avoid pressure for it can crack and ruin it prematurely. Best use products that repels dust by using static charges that repels the dirt away so you don’t have to clean often. Keep the ventilation slats clear of dust and debris for they can cause the internal circuitry to literally fry.
